fitness and decrease child/youth obesity in four rural central Maine
communities. Total award over 3 years, $377,898. |

A $604,197 Twenty-First Century Community Learning Center grant, a
federal grant administered by the Maine Department of Education, will
provide five years of after-school, summer enrichment and tutoring
programs for low-achieving students in Kennebec County. |

Community Support Program, Continuation Funding, provided mentoring
programs for middle school students, a school resource officer, and
other strategies to decrease drug abuse among youth. Grant’s
work ensured continuation funding for two years after the initial
award, netting $199,980 for a community anti-drug coalition. |

A MELMAC Education Foundation grant of $65,000 enabled a school, community,
business and higher education collaborative to increase the number
of graduates from a Maine high school going on to post-secondary education.
Grant now consults for the foundation, coaching two other grantee
groups on their grant projects. |
